Signs of Interest

The date special sign was in New Mexico. I love the coffee sign in Rock Springs. I feel that way every morning before my cup!

Rock Springs, WY

Today was my day to drive. Wyoming has a lot of grassy plains, red rock, and little trees. We are in Rock Springs, which is one of the bigger cities in Wyoming. The skies are blue; it is not humid at all, and we are off to Jackson Hole today for hiking and exploring. I love the blue skies of Wyoming. It is very windy here. I am wondering what the fences are for? We will have to ask someone. They are all over the hills. My hiking boots are ready!

Mile High with Friends

Hello from the Mile High City, Denver! We enjoyed the change of altitude, and the change from flat Texas land. Thanks Meghan and Bobby for welcoming us into your new home! It is adorable and in a perfect neighborhood. The dinner was fantastic and we enjoyed the evening by fire. This is also the first time I met baby Fiona, a sweet smiley angel that loves to bounce! We are excited to see you guys in September! Talk to you soon! Today we are off to Wyoming. Check back later tonight.
Happy trails.

Big Texan

Yeehaw! After saddling up Barry's Honda, we headed out to Amarillo, TX to The Big Texan. This is our second trip to the best steakhouse in America! We ordered up big steak dinners and really enjoyed the ambiance of singers, cowboys, and a guy that was trying to beat the clock and win a free steak dinner! Notice the beer in the boot! Love that! After a long night of driving and eating, we settled in to the Big Texan Hotel.

Recombobulation

Thanks Dad for taking Corey and I to the airport at 4am! You are the best! We had a total chaotic start to our trip. Air Tran had a "mechanical problem" which means that they did not have a pilot to fly our plane. Our pilot had over 14 hours banked already that day, so they had to "fly in a part" from Baltimore. The new pilot arrived, and we loaded the plane for Atlanta. There was total mayhem in Milwaukee and people were yelling at the staff. We took the high road and were really kind to the staff. Kindness is rewarded, as we were upgraded to first class on our flight to Dallas. They kept on announcing that for $49, you could upgrade and receive better snacks. The first class snacks were chips...if you were wondering. :) Nonetheless, it was fun and we were grateful to get to Dallas with our luggage.

Shhhh...

The banned curling iron is making the cross-country trip. What is the big deal, you may ask? It is a sore subject. It is all relative depending on your version of "roughing it." Surely the Mr. does not think there is room enough for it. Hey, at least I didn't also bring the flat iron for those humid days in the desert :).

Little Buddy in the Garden

Thanks Jess for stopping by on your way to B-town! I loved the birthday presents, walk, and shirtless Wyatt running around! Say "hi" to Kay Mama, Carrie, and Bob! Pray for our safe voyage. Still doing laundry. I gotta be up at 3am to wake up Pops!
